About us
The Quality Assurance Coordination Unit at İzmir Demokrasi University School of Foreign Languages is founded in July, 2023 to ensure that all academic programs, products or services of the SoFL are fully compliant with effective legislations and quality standards.
Vision
Our vision at the School of Foreign Languages (IDU SoFL) is to cultivate a culture of excellence and continuous improvement through the establishment of a dynamic Quality Assurance Coordination Unit (QACU). The QACU is committed to implementing, enhancing, and sustaining high-quality teaching and learning practices throughout the school. We strive to ensure that every student receives an exceptional educational experience, characterized by rigorous standards, innovative approaches, and a focus on continuous development. By fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, we aim to empower our students to thrive and excel in their language studies.
Mission
The mission of the SoFL Quality Assurance Coordination Unit (QACU) is to champion excellence in language education and promote seamless coordination among the various programs within the School of Foreign Languages. Our primary goal is to provide comprehensive support to these programs, aiding them in recognizing, documenting, and systematically evaluating their efforts in relation to quality assurance and expertise. Through collaborative partnerships and a proactive approach, we strive to enhance the overall educational experience by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that our language programs consistently meet and exceed the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities
1. Develop robust quality assurance frameworks to uphold the delivery of high-quality education.
2. Promote awareness of quality assurance activities throughout the organization and develop valid quality systems for enhancing both students’ and teachers’ performance.
3. Foster continuous improvement in educational programs through training, observations, seminars, workshops, and conferences.
4. Collaborate with external entities to ensure excellence in all educational processes.
5. Maintain close coordination with other units of the SoFL to oversee the implementation and achievement of goals and objectives.
6. Facilitate program reviews, quality assurance assessments, and surveys to support the ongoing development of the internal quality assurance system within the SoFL (School of Foreign Languages)
7. Establish straightforward procedures for reviewing and observing overall progress in reaching the aims and appraising the outcomes.
8. Improve the efficiency of the administrative systems and create a continuous quality enhancement culture within the SoFL.
